Melton Dog Obedience Club

Melton Dog Obedience Club aims to foster and encourage the training and care of dogs in an atmosphere of goodwill, knowledge, competitiveness and active participation in all the clubs activities.

Melton Dog Obedience Club

Melton Dog Obedience Club is a club based on tradition, respect and passion, and was first established in 1979.  Members of all ages, and dogs of all breeds are welcome to join the club, with training occurring each Sunday (except public holiday weekends).  The club prides itself on the ability to train dogs using verbal and hand commands, rather than food rewards.  The club is family orientated, with children and partners welcome to spectate and participate in training.

Whether you have a new puppy or an adult dog that needs some extra training, investing in dog obedience training is a great way to help your furry friend live their best life.

We’re here to help you build a great relationship with your dog, where you’re in control and your dog is well-behaved and reliable. We aim to assist you in building a rewarding and enjoyable relationship with your best mate.

We offer group obedience classes held every Sunday, where we train you to train your dog, these weekly training sessions are a great way to socialise your dog with other dogs and owners who are working towards similar training goals.

  • Obedience training allows your dog to learn how to behave around other people and dogs.
  • Stop your dog pulling on the leash and allowing you to enjoy walks again
  • Feel proud of your dog and the mutual respect you have for each other, obedience training is a very rewarding experience for all.

Each dog learns at their own speed and some pick up training faster than others, it is important to remember that a solid foundation is the key to an obedient partnership between you and your dog.

It won’t happen overnight but with patience, persistence and practice you will both reap the rewards.

Ages 10 up to 110

Training is open to all ages from 10 to 110 and includes all fitness levels.
